Efficacy of cyanoacrylate adhesive as a mounting medium for soft tissue sections as an alternative to Kirkpatrick and Lendrum's DPX

Introduction: Mounting is the final stage in histologically preparing a slide and creates permanent bond between coverslip slide, preventing breakage, air drying artefacts, stain fading. Materials & methods: In this study, fifty slides were prepared, twenty-five of which mounted using DPX twenty five cyanoacrylate adhesive. The assessed for clarity nuclear cytoplasmic details, adhesion presence bubbles by two blinded observers. Results: results showed that was better when with adhesive, but details minimal bubble entrapment seen tissue sections DPX. Conclusion: Therefore, use adhesive cannot be an alternative to mounting soft sections.
